Do I need any experience?
Not at all! Our rug tufting workshops are designed with beginners in mind. We'll guide you through the entire process, from learning how to operate a tufting gun to creating your very own rug. No experience necessary, just come ready to create!
Is rug tufting physically demanding?
Yes! Rug tufting is surprisingly physical. Tufting guns are relatively heavy, and you'll be using your arms, shoulders, and hands to guide the gun while applying steady pressure against the fabric. You'll also be standing for much of the three-hour workshop. Participants should be comfortable with repetitive movements and moderate physical activity. Breaks are always encouraged as needed!
Is rug tufting difficult?
There's a bit of a learning curve, but that's part of the fun! While the technique is beginner-friendly, tufting requires some coordination, patience, and physical effort. Our instructors will help you get comfortable with the equipment and guide you through the process.
What will I be making?
In this workshop, you'll create your own approximately 17-inch rug/wall hanging! Your design will be pre-drawn and ready to go when you arrive, so you can jump right into the fun.
Can I choose my own colors?
Absolutely! While everyone will be working with the same design, you'll have the freedom to select your own yarn colors to make your rug uniquely yours.
Can I create my own design?
For our beginner workshops, we use a predetermined design to help everyone learn the process and complete their project within the allotted time. We hope to offer additional designs and more customization options in future workshops!
How long is the workshop?
Plan on approximately three hours! We'll begin with an introduction to the equipment and a demonstration before jumping into tufting. Everyone works at their own pace, and our instructors will be there to help along the way.

Will I take my rug home the same day?
Not quite! Once you've finished tufting, we'll take care of the behind-the-scenes work. Your rug will stay with us to be glued, backed, trimmed, and shaved for a beautiful finished look. Once complete, we'll ship your rug directly to your door!
Are all materials included?
Yes! Everything you need is included in your registration, including use of our tufting equipment, yarn, rug backing, finishing materials, instruction, and shipping of your completed rug.
Is there an age requirement?
Because we'll be working with specialized equipment, this workshop is intended for adults ages 18 and older.
What should I wear?
Dress comfortably and wear something you don't mind getting a little fuzzy! We'll be working with yarn and fibers throughout the workshop. Closed-toe shoes are a must, and long hair should be tied back.
How many people will be in the workshop?
We keep our workshops small, with a maximum of six participants, so everyone has plenty of space to work and receives individualized guidance from our instructors.
